Dr. Monica Lucero DOM (she/her) is a Doctor of Oriental medicine and Traditional Medicine Practitioner. Native New Mexican of Nahua, Spanish, Apache and Diné ancestry. Dr. Monica is the owner of Red Root Acupuncture & Herbs, an herbal apothecary, community healing space and Zen center north of Old Town. Raised with the traditions of curanderismo, she walks in the footsteps of her grandmothers; weaving together her Indigenous medicines with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Both NADA and POCA certified, Dr. Lucero believes in making traditional medicines available, affordable and culturally relevant to the community she serves. Dr. Lucero teaches Traditional Chinese Medicine at ASHA (Albuquerque School of Healing Arts). She also teaches for the Tribal Canoe Journey Herbalists Indigenous herbal pathways, sharing her knowledge of Mexican, Chinese, Western and Indigenous herbal medicines. As a ceremonial birth-worker Dr. Monica serves our community’s birthing families, while also serving on the board of CWI-Changing Woman Initiative, an indigenous organization revitalizing traditional birth in Indian Country. It brings Dr. Monica great joy to be able to care for our local community and works tirelessly to preserve and help make traditional medicines accessible.

Dr. Shannon Telles-Reynolds DOM (She/Her)

Dr. Shannon Telles-Reynolds is a licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine
based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born and raised in the South Valley, where she is a proud graduate of Rio Grande High School. Dr. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of New Mexico, as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling and School Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University.
With nearly 20 years of experience as a mental health and school counselor, she returned to her academic journey and graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College of Santa Fe in August 2022, with a Master of Acupuncture with a specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is dedicated to treating patients dealing with pain and various ailments, primarily focusing on those aged 18 and older.
Her mission is to facilitate healing and promote wellness through a holistic approach addressing the mind, body, and spirit. By integrating acupuncture and herbal medicine, she aims to empower her patients in their journey toward better health and improved quality of life. She strives to be an advocate for those who feel lost within
the complexities of the medical system, offering hope and alternative options for good health. Her goal is to empower patients to take control of their health, as well as realize their wellness goals.

iusti grew up in Tiwa territory (abq) and moved back in 2013 after some years away, soon going to massage school in 2014. Their primary modalities include therapeutic massage, cupping, neuromuscular and visceral manipulation via the Barral Institute and Structural Integration in the lineage of Dr Ida Rolf. They have been blessed to learn various aspects of herbalism and energy healing with curanderxs and other traditional healers. All that to say, they explore—in collaboration with you— when to focus on muscle, bone, nerve, organs, connective tissue, energy and emotion to support holistic healing. They are English/Spanish bilingual and love supporting people through transformation—whether that’s pregnancy, shifts in the body’s abilities or other major life transitions.
